Life is hard. It's stressful, anxiety provoking, messy, convoluted, sad, and uncertain. Every person experiences these emotions through their individual trials in life. No one person's problem is greater than another person's - if a problem has enough stamina to contort a person's emotional and mental state, then it is just as meaningful and real as any. The fact is, we may never feel completely okay, completely content, or completely happy. We are always fighting off some sort of demon, internal or external. This fight though is no excuse to be anything less than yourself.
You are allowed to have days when the corners of your mouth don't exactly reach your ears, but do not make these days a habit. Don't allow your struggles to define you - you are stronger than that. Don't mask your emotions, be honest about them; don't bury them, bring them to the forefront of your being. Share how you feel and why you feel that way and work through your lows.
"Your smile is your logo.
Your personality is your business card.
How you leave others feeling after an interaction becomes your trademark."
Don't shortchange yourself by allowing gloom to overshadow your beauty.
Do the work to build a stronger and better you,
and spread courage and love to all those you encounter in the process.
Don't give an emotion enough power that it becomes a mood.
And the there's those good days,
those days when your world seems indestructible
and your worries may weigh less than usual.
Don't be ashamed of those days . . .
Sometimes it's good, it's okay, and it's NECESSARY to get wrapped up in yourself. Not because you are conceited or arrogant, but because you are proud. Sometimes it's nice to make yourself up, let the beauty from your inside shine outward for the world to see. Sometimes it's awakening to smile at yourself, to pretend everything is perfect as your red lips create that infectious curve and your eyes bat with admiration. If you do it enough, you just might start to believe it.
Every day is an occasion.
Find wonder in who you are and what you represent,
have respect for yourself and exude confidence and appreciation
for your physical, emotional, and intellectual beauty.
And smile.
Smile because you woke up today - healthy, whole, and alive.
Smile because you are captivating, you are resilient, and you are empowering.
Smile, because with that smile, you will change the world.
