For when you get scared

I think it's easy to look out the window and label - snow, trees, sunrise.

It's easy to take life at face value, to see the surface and define based strictly on observation.

When we do this we maintain a buffer between ourselves, our feelings, and the object of our observations. Instead of feeling vulnerable, we feel protected, and in control - why would I expose myself to an uncertain interpretation of you if I can sit with my own observations instead, ones that bring me clarity and peace of mind?

I feel safe, and in control, protected and autonomous, but are these feelings authentic?

It's all just touch and go - I see you, I interpret, I believe, I behave.

I want to understand you, I want to know you, I want to experience you based on who you are, how you feel, and what you endorse rather than my protected and narrow observations. My ability to perceive people and situations, whether these perceptions are grounded in reality or delusion, impacts my relationships. So why wouldn't I ground my perception in reality - in a true, deep, accurate, and supported understanding of who you are?

I will undoubtedly feel vulnerable, and exposed, but in return I have the opportunity to gain genuine, strong, and incredible relationships.

So, "let's free fall, and see where we land." - Ed Sheeran
